Same as when you buy a franchise, you need to learn the language of business. There are specific words and phrases which have a specific meaning in business. In fact, many of them ONLY have meaning in a business context.

So, why is this important?
Because when you communicate with others about business matters, you need to be speaking the same language.

. Banks and finance companies. They'll ask specific questions about assets, debts, serviceability, capacity to repay.

. The Tax Office. They’re interested in your tax obligations, GST, BAS, Income Tax and your ability to pay off any debts.

. Your spouse, or partner. Money is the cause of so many arguments in relationships. So, it’s essential to be sure of what the numbers mean and how things are looking.

. Your Franchisor. They’re keen for you to succeed, so should be interested in the financial health of your business.
