How to grow your business

One of the best ways to grow your business is to work through this Business Development Checklist:

  1. Sales.

    1. What are you doing this month to hit your sales target for next month?

    2. Is there something about the coming that you can take advantage of?

    3. Can you tie in a promotion in some way?

    4. Do you wait for customers to come to you, or can you go see them?

    5. Decide how many people you need to see or meet (Zoom) with.

    6. Decide who they are.

    7. Set the appointments.

  2. Marketing.

    1. Decide on your COVID Busting special.

    2. Organise any marketing collateral you need.

    3. Will you be doing a mailout, EDM, or what?

    4. Is your customer database up to date?

    5. Do you have your customer contact details?

    6. Are they correct and up to date?

    7. If not, decide how you can get / update them.

    8. Organise any equipment or resources you need.

    9. Set timelines for the actions needed to execute the above.

  3. People.

    1. Is your team aware of your upcoming plans?

    2. Do any of them need extra training?

    3. Do they provide an awesome customer experience?

    4. Every time?

    5. If not, decide what you will do about that.

    6. Do you need to hire someone?

    7. Do you need to performance manage someone?

    8. Decide on your approach and when you will do it.

So, you’ve had a quick flick through this checklist. Seems OK. It all makes sense.

But having a checklist is one thing. But being held accountable is something else.
