The reason I do Movember.
Sure, it’s fun to grow a mo.
But, there’s more to it than that.
I’ve had three close work colleagues get prostate cancer.
It’s not good. They survived, thank God.
And thanks to the treatment they received.
A guy I went to school got testicular cancer (you’re kidding, right?!)
Again, he survived. And has since had kids!
My dad had throat cancer.
He had radio therapy. It burnt his neck and chest from the radioactive treatment.
He looked like he’d been through Hiroshima. I remember the night his oncologist called him to say he was all clear. They got it.
Mum gave him a kiss good night, then went to bed. She died in her sleep that night. Never woke up.
Dad has had two more cancers since then. Has survived both. He turns 93 in two weeks’ time. I think he’ll make it.
So, that’s why I do Movember.
Because cancer is a bugger.
Because cancer doesn’t care who it gets. Because I could be next. It’s affected my family and my loved ones.
I’ll do what I can to help those who can fight it best. If that means growing a Mo, I’ll do it.
If that means giving some money, I’ll do it.
If that means asking you to give money, I’ll do it.
Please donate to this great cause. $25, $50, why not $100?
