Marketing ideas for your Laser Clinic salon
Having worked with a number of laser clinics, we have distilled some of the more successful marketing ideas for you to try. These include:
Birthday specials for customers. Ask each new customer for their date of birth (excluding year of birth, as this may be a sensitive issue) and then 2 - 3 weeks before their big day, send out their special birthday promotion. Make a big deal, wish them happy birthday, and use your promotion to entice them back into the salon to luxuriate and enjoy themselves! Pamper them and make them feel fantastic!
Anniversary Special Promotions. On the Anniversary date of the opening of your clinic run special Anniversary promotions as well. These promotions and special offers to be promoted to your entire client and prospect base.
Offer Online Booking with Square Appointments. As part of your service, offer online bookings with Square Appointments, or whichever online booking system you’re comfortable with. It is essential you embrace online technology in your business, as many of your promotional opportunities will utilise online mediums, such as Facebook and Instagram.
Establish a "Selfie station" inside your salon. This will be an important element of your strategy to promote your services online, by having a Selfie Station within your salon. Encourage your clients to use the Selfie Station after their treatments to showcase themselves online, and at the same time, subtly promote your business as well. Be sure to have signage and appropriate branding in place.
Sponsor a Local Fashion Show. As part of your engagement with the local business community, get to know as many of the local fashion stores as you can. (They can be a tremendous source of cross referrals!) Promote those fashion businesses who run Fashion Shows by sponsoring their events. This will generate goodwill between your businesses and allow for cross promotion of the products and services you each offer. Tie in a special Fashion Show offers with the show as well.
Consider offering special promotions on a daily basis. It is an essential part of the business to continually promote the business and engage with your client base. Watch carefully whether to run a promotion every single day, or only on those days which turn out to be quiet days. From your data and experience, you will know that some days are busy, while others tend to be quiet. Run the promotions for the quieter days to continue to build sales.
Promote your salon on Facebook and Instagram. Have a deliberate online marketing strategy which will utilise the likes of Facebook and Instagram. Watch the online space regularly and look to use other channels which become popular as well, such as We Chat and Tik Tok. Online promotions will be an integral component of your marketing strategy. This means you will run deliberate and planned promotions, and not simply rely on ad hoc, knee jerk promotions.
Referral Reward Program. An excellent way to promote ‘word of mouth’ referrals is to run a Referral Reward Program. This is where you reward clients for the new customers they refer to you. These rewards can be in the form of bonus treatments, discounts or other promotional offers.
An extension to the Referral Reward Program, is to work with your own “Influencers” and offer them special incentives for their referrals. This will work well with your involvement in the local community as you become known as being actively involved and supportive or local community events, with key local personalities.
Hosting In-Store Events and Workshops. Plan to run semi regular in store events and workshops. Promote these to your client base and the broader community. One idea is to run them after hours, as ‘Twilight Sessions’. Work with your suppliers, and have them give a brief presentation on the benefits of using their products. Ask for 'giveaways' from your suppliers, to promote their products and help to reduce the costs of the events.
Make the most of Afterpay, Zippay and other 'shop now and pay later’ tools.
Ensure your team is highly skilled and fully trained, thereby ensuring they are at the highest level, all staff to have Diploma or Cert IV in Beauty.
Undertake regular surveys of your clients, taking on board their feedback, comments and ideas.
Encourage clients who are happy with your service to do reviews on Google and other social media sites.
Be sure to have regular staff training on the customer service side of the business. This is separate and in addition to the technical skills training you will provide them with.
Consider running regular promotions specifically targeted to the male population. This can be done directly to the market place. It can also be done with referral programs to your female clientele, encouraging them to promote special offers to the guys they know.
As you can see, there are a number of great ideas on this list. The next step is to decide on which ones you would like to try, then work out the steps to bring it to life!
Let me know if you need a hand.
