What’s more important? Good marketing, or good product or service?
What’s more important? Good marketing, or good product or service?
Marketing.
Good marketing wins. Hands down. Every time.
That’s not to say it’s not important to have a good product or service.
In fact, it’s really important.
But good marketing is more important.
Consider how many businesses or service providers you know, who produce a really good product or service.
Top quality.
But, if nobody knows about it, where does that leave the business owner?
Nowhere.
Sure, they’ll get referrals from time to time.
But not enough to make the big money.
Good marketing, on the other hand, gets the message out there.
In fact, good marketing can actually compensate for a product or service that is average, or mediocre at best!
We can all think of examples of this!
Good marketing:
creates an emotional connection
sets expectations
highlights the experience
differentiates your offering.
As product and service offering standards continue to rise, the ability to differentiate becomes more difficult on a feature by feature comparison.
Which leaves it to marketing to differentiate your offering in the mind of your customer.
If not, they’ll simply go for the lower priced one.
And that’s definitely a place we don’t want to get to.
So, maybe it’s time to check where your focus is.
Let me know if you need a hand.
