There are three Core Areas of every business, no matter what the size.
Your job, as business owner, is to be on top of each of them.
Not DO each of them.
Just be on top of them.
1. Marketing & Sales. Without customers and sales, you don’t have a business. You’re on a never ending quest to find more customers. Find them. Convert them. Nurture them.
2. People & Operations. This is where it all gets done. Manage your people to deliver your product or service, to the standard you set. Where you do what you say you will do.
3. Finance & Admin. The back office. Bookkeeping. Run the reports. Collect the debts. Pay your bills. Organise finance. Lodge your BAS, Tax and Super. Manage your supply chain. Prepare Profit and Loss. Cashflow Forecast. Budgets.
Overarching all of these is your Strategy for the business. Where you are going and how you will get there.
Your role as Business Owner is to manage each of these areas. To manage the competing pressures.
Look at each of these Core Areas.
Decide which actions need to be taken now.
Then next.
Which is the more important?
Which is the more urgent?
What must be done to achieve your goals?
List them down.
Prioritise them.
Do them.
